Exercise 1: Delusions of Grandeur

Find a product in your fridge or pantry with boring copy and rewrite it so that it’s truly compelling.

Often times we fall victim to the expectations of a product or category. “There’s no way a Saltine can be interesting!” or “No one is going to read what it says on a milk carton.”

This is nothing short of a missed opportunity. Some people will read what’s on the side of a milk carton—why not surprise them? These low expectations leave us room, and permission, to come up with something wild and attention-grabbing.
