Write of way
Today we're going to blur the line a bit between a writing exercise and a drawing exercise. This is nothing new (see: Jenny Holzer, Ed Ruscha, et al.), but the interaction between the two can create some interesting results.
Take a piece of paper and fold it irregularly four to seven times. Make sure the creases are clear.
Unfold it and grab a writing/drawing implement of your choice. Fill each creased shape with writing of your choice—you could pick words at random, write a letter to a friend, use words that you feel fit the creased shape—it's totally up to you.
Fold it back up and put it in a place where someone (friend or stranger) will run into it.
*If you have a co-conspirator, you can pass the piece of paper back and forth.
Scroll down if you want to see an example. As always, we’d love to see what you come up with!
