Cut and paste naming
One of my favorite things about coming up with names is putting unexpected words together to create something that hits people in a completely new way. We see this with names like Teenage Engineering or Mellow Johnny's. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Today we'll be exploring a new way to create these combinations.
1. Take a sheet of text from a magazine or newspaper and cut it into a bunch of rectangles.
2. Jumble them up
3. Restructure them however you like
4. Look for interesting combinations of words and write them down, then think of what businesses or products they would be a good fit for.
Enjoy.
This week marks 29 weeks of Lovely Madness. We plan to continue sending out weekly prompts until we reach 50 exercises. At that point, we’re going to take a step back and decide what’s next. So if you were thinking about sharing with your friends or colleagues, now is the time!
